What is Dentistry?
Dentistry is a profession that concentrates on the health of the mouth, gums, and teeth. It is also the branch of medicine that is concerned with the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of disorders, diseases, and conditions in the mouth, teeth, and related structures and tissues, especially in the jaw and facial (maxillofacial) area. A healthcare professional who is trained to practice dentistry is called a dentist. Their responsibilities include the evaluation and treatment of their patients’ oral health needs.
